rosey2_r900x493_SeaWorld24.06.16  – Update: SeaWorld officials have announced that despite showing some signs of improvement the dolphin has died and a necropsy will now be performed  to determine cause of death.

Original news item:
A common dolphin found stranded on St Malo Beach, Oceanside (north of San Diego, California) has been taken in by SeaWorld and is currently being treated for an injury to its’ upper jaw.  The dolphin, thought to be 3-4 years old, is receiving medication for pain and antibiotics to help stop any infection taking hold.

The dolphin has been there since Thursday and is said to be improving, is now eating and swimming well.  Marine Connection director Margaux Dodds comments; “Let us hope that this dolphin continues to recover and SeaWorld return him to the ocean as soon as possible to allow him to return to his wild life.”
