Parques Reunidos partner with Discovery Communications

By October 5, 2017No Comments

PRParques Reunidos, the parent company of Miami Seaquarium have partnered with Discovery Communications to develop themed entertainment centres in North America, Western Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

The integrated indoor entertainment centres will include interactive family entertainment facilities, themed around topics such as nature and the oceans but with no live animals and state-of-the-art rides.

Marine Connection director Margaux Dodds comments; “This is the direction in which the company should be taking their business, as it presents a viable alternative to keeping captive animals. It is our sincere hope that Parques Reunidos now considers the ongoing pleas being made to them to allow Lolita, the orca at Miami Seaquarium, to be retired and live a more natural lifestyle to bring them in line with growing social opinion against whales and dolphins being held in captivity.”

Discovery Communications portfolio brand includes Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.
