Joining Forces – achieving more for dolphins and whales

Advocacy work can be strengthened considerably through coalitions & partnerships and Marine Connection works alongside many like-minded organisations and individuals to maximise efforts and achieve more for dolphins, whales and porpoises.

Dolphinaria Free Europe

Dolphinaria-Free Europe is a coalition of NGOs, scientists and individuals working to end the keeping of dolphins, whales and porpoises in captivity in Europe. The coalition seeks greater protection for captive cetaceans through investigation, advocacy and public education.

China Cetacean Alliance

The China Cetacean Alliance is a coalition of international animal protection and conservation organisations which raises public awareness of conservation and welfare issues associated with the wild capture and confinement of whales, dolphins and porpoises in theme parks in mainland China.

stop sea blasts

Stop Sea Blasts raises public awareness about dolphins, whales and other marine life being injured/killed by the detonation of unexploded bombs found in British waters from the First and Second World Wars. The goal of the campaign is to persuade the UK Government and Wind Farm developers to quietly burn out these bombs rather than blow them up, as the practice threatens the safety and survival of dolphins and whales, causing untold damage to vulnerable marine habitats.

stop the grind campaign

Stop the Grind is a global coalition of concerned organisations and individuals working together to end ‘traditional’ dolphin and whale slaughter in the Faroe Islands, demonstrating that the world community will not stand by and watch the islands’ government continue to act irresponsibly by allowing these kills to continue. Using our united voice to stop this cruel and unacceptable practice.

underwater sound forum

The UK Underwater Sound Forum is a thriving community of representatives from Government, academic, NGO and industry who not only have an interest in matters relating to underwater noise in the marine environment, but also the impact these have on dolphins, whales and other marine life.
