Following the closure today of the dolphin facility at the Best Western Paradise Hotel in Dilijan, The Republic of Armenia Ministry of Nature Protection has granted the Russian owners a six-month re-export license to transfer the two dolphins to a facility in Iran.
Under the original CITES permit it stated the dolphins should be returned to Russia, we will therefore be making further enquiries as to the conditions of the re-export permit to ensure Armenia remains free of captive cetaceans in the future.
