Advocacy work can be strengthened considerably through coalitions & partnerships and Marine Connection works alongside many like-minded organisations and individuals to maximise efforts and achieve more for dolphins, whales and porpoises.
Stop Sea Blasts raises public awareness about dolphins, whales and other marine life being injured/killed by the detonation of unexploded bombs found in British waters from the First and Second World Wars. The goal of the campaign is to persuade the UK Government and Wind Farm developers to quietly burn out these bombs rather than blow them up, as the practice threatens the safety and survival of dolphins and whales, causing untold damage to vulnerable marine habitats.
Stop the Grind is a global coalition of concerned organisations and individuals working together to end ‘traditional’ dolphin and whale slaughter in the Faroe Islands, demonstrating that the world community will not stand by and watch the islands’ government continue to act irresponsibly by allowing these kills to continue. Using our united voice to stop this cruel and unacceptable practice.
MARC or the Marine Animal Rescue Coalition is a collaboration focused on the difficult and often heartbreaking issue of the rescue of stranded whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals, turtles and other marine animals. It involves hundreds of people directly (i.e. as trained rescuers) and many thousands more indirectly. The success of this collaboration has come about because of the interest and hard work of a team of people who work both through the Coalition and their own organisations.
