Joining Forces – achieving more for dolphins and whales

Advocacy efforts are significantly strengthened through the formation of coalitions and partnerships. Marine Connection collaborates with like-minded organisations and individuals to maximise impact and achieve greater protection for dolphins, whales, and porpoises..

Dolphinaria-Free Europe (DFE) is a coalition of non-governmental organisations, scientists, and individuals dedicated to ending the captivity of cetaceans in Europe. The coalition works to promote greater protection for these marine mammals through investigation, advocacy and public education.

The China Cetacean Alliance (CCA) plays an important role in advocating for the welfare and conservation of cetaceans – specifically focusing on the impacts of their capture from the wild and confinement in marine parks and aquariums in mainland China.

Stop Sea Blasts is a campaign to protect dolphins, whales, and other marine life from underwater explosions in British waters. Every year, old wartime bombs are found on the seabed. The current method—detonating them in place—sends deadly shockwaves through the ocean, harming marine animals and ecosystems. Safer, proven alternatives exist and must be used instead. It’s time to stop the blasts and protect our seas.

Stop the Grind is a global coalition of concerned organisations and individuals united in the mission to end the so-called ‘traditional’ slaughter of dolphins and whales in the Faroe Islands. We stand together to show that the international community will not remain silent while the Faroese government continues to allow this cruel and outdated practice. Through our collective voice, we are demanding an immediate end to these inhumane killings — because tradition is no excuse for brutality.

The UK Underwater Sound Forum is a vibrant and collaborative community comprising representatives from government, academia, NGOs, and industry. United by a shared commitment to understanding and addressing underwater noise pollution, the forum focuses on the impacts of sound on marine environments and species, including cetaceans and other marine life.

The Marine Animal Rescue Coalition (MARC) is a collaborative network of trained professionals and affiliated organisations committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of stranded marine mammals and turtles. Through coordinated efforts and expertise, MARC strives to safeguard marine wildlife and promote conservation along the UK coastal regions.
