Every year at least 8 million tons of plastic ends up in our oceans, making up 80% of all marine debris – a serious and sometimes fatal threat to dolphins and whales.
Our partners at Teemill are supporting efforts to stop ocean plastic pollution by launching the ‘One Tee One Kg’ weekend – this means that for every order placed from our online shop, 1kg of ocean-bound plastic will be recovered and recycled – the equivalent of 50 plastic bottles.
Marine Connection will still receive the same proceeds from each purchase to continue our vital work, as Teemill will be totally funding the plastic recovery by Plastic Bank, who have to date removed over 15 million kgs of ocean-bound plastic – enough to circle the earth with straws 2,700 times. The cool thing is that all recovered plastic is recycled to be made into other products.
