Shop with us this weekend – the planet gets a tree free

By February 12, 2021No Comments

Valentines day, valentines weekend, gifts, charity, t-shirts, save the planet, global warming, free gifts, marine connection, merchandise, whale t-shirt, dolphin t-shirt, buy one get one tree, TeemillWhat have trees got to do with dolphins and whales you may ask?

Tree planting can help tackle the crisis we now find our climate in as trees absorb a huge amount of carbon dioxide, which if released in the atmosphere, drives up ocean surface temperatures.

This valentine weekend, our lovely partners at Teemill will arrange for a tree to be planted on behalf of Marine Connection for every order placed in our online shop at their expense, this means that we still receive the proceeds as normal from your merchandise purchase meaning that not only do you help us protect dolphins and whales, but also the planet, seas and oceans by planting a tree.

With 1 billion items of clothing made each year, almost 40% of all production is never utilised which means a dump truck of textiles waste goes straight to landfill, every second and when you think about it, climate change is because of stuff like this which then impacts the areas of ocean in which dolphins and whales live.

CO2 pollution occurs as part of the process of making things. That’s why Teemill makes things differently. Their wonderful products and packaging are made from natural materials, not plastic and furthermore, every product they make ( t-shirt/hoodie/jumper etc.) is designed to be sent back to them when it is worn out – they make new products from the material recovered, so the cycle itself is renewable. And that’s not all! The Teemill factory is powered by renewable energy. The Sun powers the machines that make the products in real-time, in the seconds after they’re ordered. Teemill only make what people need, when they need it.  Super cool!

Buy something from our great range of merchandise this weekend and help save the planet, our seas and oceans!
