Marine Connection has joined 28 animal welfare organisations in Canada/USA and globally, supporting a joint letter by IMMP to the Canadian Minister of Fisheries and Oceans regarding the future of the 31 beluga whales at Marineland, Canada. With Marineland’s approval to divide the property and redevelop the site, the whales, the last remaining belugas in captivity in Canada, must be relocated. The letter includes a request to safeguard the future of these whales and look at alternative options for them, rather than being split up and sent to another public display facility.
