Today on World Oceans Day we celebrate our oceans and all the wonders they contain. As we celebrate we must also consider what each and every one of us can do now to protect cetaceans and their ocean home.
Man continues to burden marinelife with toxins and plastics, they are taken into captivity for entertainment in aquariums and marine parks, killed in the name of tradition or for food. We are causing untold suffering and driving species to extinction.
At the UN Ocean Conference in New York this week Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, warned that the oceans are under threat as never before and that plastics dumped in the oceans could outweigh fish by 2050 if nothing is done.
Please take just one step to help turn this tide of destruction – one person can make a difference to help protect the future of the world’s oceans and marine wildlife – please let that person be you.
