The ongoing issue of the Fjord & Baelt facility in Denmark being authorised to take wild-caught harbour porpoises for research is extremely concerning.
Marine Connection agrees this needs to be addressed, and as an active member of Dolphinaria-Free Europe (DFE), we very much welcome the joint letter sent today from DFE coalition and World Animal Protection (Denmark), calling on the Danish authorities to prohibit future exemption permits and also to consider the monitored release of two recently captured porpoises, Saga and Eskild.
