As a child, I was truly fascinated by our oceans. Over 30 years ago, I encountered a wild, solitary, sociable dolphin known as Fungie in Dingle Bay, Ireland. I wanted to make marine conservation a large part of my life and do more to protect these incredible marine mammals.

I remember my first sight of Fungie as if it was yesterday and although he is no longer with us, it’s been four years this month that he passed. He was loved by many, and his memory will live on.
