For over 50 years, Earth Day has been celebrated on April 22nd and this year’s theme is ‘Invest In the Planet’.

As a dolphin and whale conservation charity, we are asking everyone to do everything in their power to stop harming the marine environment. Plastic pollution is threatening the survival of our oceans being the largest, most harmful and most persistent of marine litter, accounting for at least 85 per cent of all marine waste. If we continue to use it at the current rate, ocean plastic will outweigh all the fish in the sea by 2050. This impacts on the survival and welfare of dolphins, whales, sea birds, turtles, seals, and other marine life which are all affected by plastic, experiencing starvation as their stomachs fill with litter or becoming entangled by plastic, both of which can be fatal.

Thank you for cutting down on single-use plastics, and helping to make our oceans a cleaner, safer place to live.
