Moskvarium has reported that wild-caught orca, Naya is 15 months into her pregnancy and due to give birth in December. According to the Moskvarium veterinary service, Naya became pregnant naturally, if so, this would mean the father is Nord, who died in June 2023.

Since opening in 2015, the facility at one point held three orcas, Naya is now the only survivor.  She was captured from the Sea of Okhotsk in 2014, the other female Narnia died in January of this year and was also taken from the Sea of Okhotsk in 2012. Nord was wild-caught off Sakhalin Island – all orcas were cruelly forcibly removed from the ocean and their families.

END CAPTIVITY – TANKS ARE NOT THEIR HOME
