Following our previous post, Marine Connection has written to the Prime Minister of St Lucia expressing concern over plans by Dolphin Discovery to establish a dolphin park at Pigeon Island, St Lucia. The letter is supported by several international NGOs, scientists and cetacean advocates. We have sent a copy of our letter to His Excellency, Mr Guy Mayers the High Commissioner to St Lucia in London requesting a meeting with the Governor-General in St Lucia to discuss this further. In the meantime we continue to work alongside our colleagues in the Caribbean in an effort to stop this application. Recently at a meeting of the St Lucia National Trust, members voted unanimously against establishing a dolphin facility at Pigeon Island or anywhere else in St Lucia.
