A solitary beluga whale that frequented waters around Clarenville, Newfoundland which locals nicknamed Bluey has been found dead.

Bluey had lived in the area for over two years and often became entangled in ropes and fishing gear.  He had to be rescued several times however sadly on this occasion, he became entangled in an old mooring cable and died before any rescue attempt could be made.
